From Simple Beginnings to Limitless Possibilities
Louise grew up in Northampton in the Midlands. Life wasn’t always easy, holidays, new clothes, and luxuries were scarce but her parents and upbringing instilled in her a work ethic and resilience that have shaped her career. “I believe you can achieve anything you set your mind to,” she says, reflecting on her childhood. “If you put more in than is expected or needed, you will be successful.” Perhaps it’s no surprise then that Louise has remained so passionate about Direct Sales. She knows first-hand the opportunities it can unlock for people, regardless of their background.
Falling in Love with the Industry
Louise didn’t set out to build a decades-long career in Direct Sales. She joined Avon in her hometown simply because it was a job. “I could have gone to Carlsberg or Barclaycard, they were also big companies in my hometown, but I went to Avon. At first, it was just a job. After about four years, I was hooked. ”What made her stay? The people. Seeing consultants succeed, mentoring them, and watching careers transform became her driving force. “We are in the business of people,” she says.
Career Highlights That Inspire
Over the years, Louise’s career has been filled with milestone moments: presenting in front of 10,000 people, helping consultants rise to the top of compensation plans, and even delivering events in places like Kuala Lumpur and Disneyland Paris. But her proudest achievements aren’t measured in stages or spotlights, they’re found in the countless individuals she has helped grow, both personally and professionally.
Lessons in Leadership
Louise credits much of her leadership philosophy to early mentors who taught her the importance of ‘listening to the people’. “People should always be at the heart of any business,” she explains. She describes her own leadership style as heart-led: grounded in empathy, authenticity, and integrity. “Whether you’ve got a title or not, whether you’re leading a team or just leading yourself, how you show up matters. We’re all leading, one way or another.”

The sector has changed dramatically since Louise began. Technology, social media, and now AI have reshaped the way business is done. Yet, at its core, she believes Direct Sales is still about people: community, relationships, and togetherness. “When it’s done right, Direct Sales is a force for good.”

Louise often tells business owners that consistency and grit are essential, but there’s something even more important: commitment. “It’s the internal promise you make to yourself. Without it, life gets in the way. With it, success becomes inevitable.”
